The Importance Of The Unity Of The Body Of Christ (Part 3)

Posted by: Minister Robert McConkey on Thu, Sep 16, 2021

Sectarianism divides the Body Of Christ, which the Enemy uses to weaken and make it ineffective and it also points to spiritual immaturity

I previous pointed out in part 3 of this message, that Paul told the some of the Corinthian Christians, in our vernacular that they were to stopping fighting amongst themselves, on who they were followers of, and attempting to make him and Apollos their leaders, because both he and Apollos were nothing more than ministers or servants of Christ, working with and toward the same goal. And that goal was the furtherance of the Gospel that he and Apollos preached to them, which in turn brought about their faith in Christ, and made them members of His body.

This is what should be kept in mind brothers and sisters, in regard to the ordained ministry leaders of the denominational churches you are "members" of. Whether we are talking about pastors or even deacons, but especially pastors, they may be the leaders of it, but they that are not the head of it, Christ is. They are leaders, yes. But they are servant-leaders. They lead as servants under the true leadership of Christ. Pastors are under-shepherds of the true Shepherd, Jesus Christ.  Deacons do their service by following the example of the One who came not to be served but to serve.

Paul in own his way, was saying, that no matter what office that our church have as pastors, etc , their underlying role of that of servants of Christs. He used a Koine Greek word, for which we get the word deacon. diakonos which means "servant" or "minister" if you prefer, which by the came from a Latin word used the by the Romans, ministrae, which we are get the word "servant."

I am going to stop for now and finish this later.
