The Biblical Importance of Agreement
The Lord Loves Agreement Among His People, Hates Dissention

The concept of "agreement" appears repeatedly throughout the Bible, and here is one example:

"Finally, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways, heed my appeal, agree with one another,
live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you."

2 Corinthians 13:11 (RSV)

If people agree on something, they can work together in harmony. But if they do not agree, the result is dissention and confusion.

As a matter of practical Christian life, it is good policy for people to establish clear agreements on all matters of importance among themselves. In many cases, it is desirable to have written statements of agreement, in order to avoid misunderstanding and dissention. As they say, "Get it in writing, avoid misunderstanding."

In order to help people develop agreements among themselves, I have written several free legal forms which can cover many common situations where people might need to have written statements of agreement. One of the forms, the "All-Purpose Agreement Form," is located at http://www.loveallpeople.org/allpurposeagreementform.html . All of these forms are located at http://www.loveallpeople.org/freelegalforms.html . I have placed them in the Public Domain, so that everyone can copy and use them freely, without restriction.

The list of Biblical references to agreement is shown below . . .
