Your ambassador to Jerusalem

One Word from God can change your life forever. I know!

Just weeks before the Iran Contra affair broke into public view, I received a call from Carolyn Sundseth, the religious liaison officer at the White House. "Mike, can you fly to Washington and pray for a man? I can't tell you his name or anything else about him, but if you get a promise from God's Word, please share it with him." I told her I would do so. I went to Washington, D.C. to the White House and prayed over the man without knowing who he was. I gave him Isaiah 43:2--the same Word I am sharing with you today. Please write the date on this promise. I have done it. You need to do it as well. Put it on a card, tape it to your mirror or refrigerator where you can see it daily. Activating this promise will transform your life!

What I didn't know is that within two weeks of giving him that scripture, he would be embroiled in the Iran Contra scandal. I had flown to El Salvador to deliver a scripture to President Alfredo Cristiana whose country was embroiled in a civil war. I shared II Chronicles 7:14 with the president and told him that if he were to apply that verse, the civil war could be resolved. While in San Salvador, I picked up a newspaper, and there on the front page was a picture of the young military officer with whom I had prayed just weeks before--Colonel Oliver North. The Iran Contra affair had broken on all the major news outlets.

I didn't hear the rest of the story for almost twenty years. Benjamin Netanyahu had become prime minister, and I was at the White House to cover his visit. I had also given him a promise and prayed over him. My cell phone rang; it was Oliver North. He said, "Thank you so much for giving me that promise. I stood on it every day in the midst of the greatest accusations I had ever faced. I believed the waters would not overtake me; the fire would not burn me. I confessed that Scripture throughout the days and nights...and believed it."

I was so thrilled to hear Oliver North share that testimony. What a joy to see the power of God's promise activated! I now share this same proven promise with you. I know it's a fresh Word from the Lord because it came like fire as I was praying. I can tell you with all sincerity, every miracle in my life has come through a promise in God's Word on which I've stood, confessed, and declared no matter how great or discouraging the news.

We are living in prophetic days...and God wants us to be more than just spectators. Our prayers and support for God's Chosen People are vital to winning the great spiritual battle for Israel's survival. I'm asking you today to join me in doing something great for the people of Israel. They are facing great threats from without and economic hardship within. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:13&14)
