Satan Hates To See You Blessed

There are three blessings that the devil will try feverishly to hinder you from enjoying in this life. They are blessings that come straight from God to all those who walk uprightly before Him. Read this message to find out what they are and then be aware of the attacks that will come to steal these blessings from you.

These three blessings are implied in Job 1:10. Actually, in this verse, Satan is asking God a question. In this question, he gives away his greatest apprehensions concerning the children of God. The verse reads as follows - "Hast not Thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land."

1. Satan Cannot Stand The Fact That You Are Under God's Protection 24/7

"Hast not Thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?..." - There is an enclosure around every child of God. It is a defense, fence, or wall of protection. It cannot be broken down by men or devils. It is built and sustained by God's almighty power. It is so thick a hedge and so strong a fence that no adversary could possibly break through it at any time - unless God permits.

In Genesis 15:1, it is the "shield" about Abram. In Psalm 5:12, it is the "favor" of God which surrounds His people. In Psalm 34:7, it is "the angel of the LORD" which surrounds all those who fear God. In Zechariah 2:5, it is "a wall of fire round about." In 1 Peter 1:5, it is "the power of God" which keeps all those who are saved through faith.

As we can see from the Scriptures, there is a definite "hedge" of protection about the people of God. In 1 Samuel 25:16, it is implied that the Lord oftentimes uses men to be a "wall" of protection for His people. In Psalm 80:12, this "hedge" is spoken of as something that He can break down at any given time. Isaiah 5:2 and 5 reveal to us that sin also can bring down the "fence" or "hedge" about the believer or provoke God to take it away.

Satan could not stand to see the "hedge" of protection around Job. He resented the fact that not only was it around Job, but also around his family in their persons, estates, and possessions. It included protection for his sheep, oxen, camels, and donkeys - his business or means of support.

2. Satan Cannot Stand To See You Prosper

"...Thou hast blessed the work of his hands..." - God greatly prospered Job. Whatever he did or was concerned about - God brought great success in and through it. Job did the work cut out for him, and the Lord blessed it - causing it to succeed.

Throughout the Scriptures, we can see "the blessing of the Lord" upon the work of His people. In Genesis 26:12, it says of Isaac - "Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold, and the LORD blessed him." It is said that God blessed the house of Laban for Jacob's sake - "For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming..." (Genesis 30:30). And Jacob prophesied over his son Joseph, saying - "Even by the God of thy father, Who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, Who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb" (Genesis 49:25).

Proverbs 10:22 plainly states - "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it." The way He does this is by "establishing the works" of His people's hands (Psalm 90:17) and also by blessing them in such a way that they and their "cattle" or means of support or provision "are multiplied greatly." (Psalm 107:38).

3. Satan Hates When You Experience A Breakthrough

"... and his substance is increased in the land" - Job's "substance" happened to be his cattle. It is implied in the Holy Scriptures that his cattle covered the face of the country. They spread out like a flood or broke out like a breech of waters. It was as if some waters - that had been pent up for the longest time - suddenly burst forth - breaking down every barrier and exceeding all bounds. Resultantly, we have a picture of wealth pouring in upon him in great plenty.

Satan hates to see you blessed. He will attack you in the areas regarding your protection and provision.

Don't allow him to cause you to fear in these areas any longer.

There is a hedge of protection around you. No one can tear it down except you - by your sin - or except God - when He is seeking to bring glory to His name.

"You are blessed of the LORD Which made heaven and earth" (Psalm 115:15). It is His will to bless the work of your hands, prosper you, and make you extremely successful in what you do.

It is His will that your "blessings" burst forth or break loose on the right hand and on the left - breaking down all barriers.

Satan will fight you in these areas. However, stand strong against him. Resist him with your faith in the promises and power of God.

These are blessings which belong to you and yours. Don't allow anyone to steal them from you.

May God Bless His Word,

Connie
