Crowned with Glory and Honor

“It has been solemnly and earnestly said in a certain place, What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You graciously and helpfully care for and visit and look after him? ….You have crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of Your hands.” Hebrews 2:6,7

The writer of Hebrews is quoting the above verses from Psalms 8:4-6. Jesus came forth from the presence of God as His Son. He was the first begotten – but praise God He was not the last. Let us give thanks with grateful hearts that we are also sons of God.

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Romans 8:14

This verse is loaded with a double blessing. We are not just sons but also we are led by the Spirit of God. I was asked one time to minister to a group of young men that were in training to become preachers. They were enrolled in a seminary which teaches eternal security. I was amused at the passage of scripture the Lord gave me to share with these young men.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied (preached) in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23

This passage of scripture is pretty straight forward and I could tell that several of those young men were kinda shaking in their boots. I reminded them that it was the Lord Jesus Himself who made these statements and we need to ponder what He was saying. One of the young men ask me how we can know we are truly doing the will of God. I told him that we needed to read the next verse where we are told that those who hear and does what he is being told by Jesus can rest assured that his house will be built on the rock. Yes, this rock is Jesus. Glory!

When we are told that we can move and have our being in Him we are simply being told that we must hear Him and be obedient to what He is saying. Jesus went about demonstrating this way of living. He confessed that in Himself he could do nothing. Wow! Lets read that verse together.

“I can of Myself do nothing. AS I HEAR, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” John 5:30

Again, the key to walking as sons is hearing and doing what we hear. Glory! Again, let us give thanks with grateful hearts that we are hearing His voice and by His grace and mercy we are being obedient. Some of the final words of Jesus to the Father in the garden were telling the Father that He had come to do His will and not His own. Lord Jesus, thank you for being a perfect example of being led by His Spirit and thank You that You are more than willing to help us today to walk the same way You walked.

We continue to see the awesome hand of God working with folks who are taking our HCG to lose weight. Not a single day goes by now without us receiving testimonies of folks being successful in shedding excess weight. Lord, we are thankful for your faithfulness to help all of us when we cry out for help.

Blessings,
