Proverbs 15:5
Only a fool despises a parent’sdiscipline;
Whoever learns from correction is wise.
My dad is the kind of dad that wants me to grow up to be successful in life, and not make the same mistakes he did. My dad disciplines me and makes sure that I am doing the best I can in my Bible reading, my school work and in making life long choices. It is hard to stand by sometimes and listen to his corrections and to his teaching, and sometimes I wish I could ignore it, but when I do listen I learn a lesson. Every time I learn something about life that I am going to need or a hear a story of how my dad learned this, and how not to do this and not to do that. All of his teachings have made me a stronger person. Dads are very important because when you don't listen to them you are making a fool out of yourself. Although when you do listen, you learn and become obedient toward him. And in becoming obedient to my earthly father, I have become more obedient to my Heavenly Father. If I didn't listen to my dad I would be a completely different person. As hard as it may be when we don't like the answer our parents give us, we must always remember; God gave us these parents and God never makes a mistake or any accidents! Be wise, learn from correction, because seriously..who wants to make the same mistakes twice?
Dear Jesus,
Thank You for our dads.
We are grateful for our earthly fathers.
Help us to be obedient and gain wisdom through their correction and discipline.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
