Today's Scripture *June 12 & 13, 2010*
Matthew 5:3
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
For the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Each beatitude tells how to be blessed by God. Blessed means more than happiness. It implies the fortune or enviable state of those who are in God's Kingdom.
The Beatitudes don't promise laughter, pleasure, or earthly prosperity. Being "blessed" by God means the experience of hope and joy, independent of outward circumstances.
To find hope and joy, the deepest form of happiness, follow Jesus no matter what the cost.
Lord, we want Your blessing in our lives.
Earthly pleasure will all pass away, but Your blessings will last for all of eternity.
Help us to keep our eyes fixed on You and Your promises to us.
May Your presence bring hope and joy into all our lives each and every day.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Have a blessed weekend!
Rich in His Service,
April
