Ashley's Today's Scripture *June 7, 2010*
Luke 6:35
But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
It is one of the hardest things, in my opinion, to love your enemies. They are mean to you, don't like you, talk about you behind your back, and even tell lies about you. But despite our 'feelings' for them we need to try as Christians to love them like Christ loves them and to be sure that we are praying for them and being kind to them. Its not going to be easy! But it is going to make a difference and we are called to be more like Jesus-- and Jesus was kind to and loved us all, way before we loved Him in return! Shouldn't we then do the same for others?
Dear Lord,
Thank You for this day and for everyone that is in our lives.
I pray that You will help us to love them all unconditionally and
That we will pray for them and just be Christ- like in our dealings with those who hate us.
In Jesus' Name We Pray
Amen
