Subject:
THE WORD OF GOD (May 18, 2008)
Prayer Request:
The phrase “Word of God” is perhaps one of the most abused phrases in Christianity due to a serious lack of understanding coming from a lack of the experience of living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. [Understanding (& discernment) comes from experience]
Christian reasoning is the reason most Christians do not have much credibility in the secular world today. For example Many Christians see the Holy Bible as the “Word of God” instead of the book which contains the word of God. The word bible originally comes from words that mean simply book.
Etymology:
Middle English, from Old French, from Medieval Latin biblia, from Greek, plural of biblion book, diminutive of
This Book approved (canonized) by the Catholic Church and later by the protestant movement collectively is what we know today as the Bible

Make no mistake about it, this collection of scriptures is (for good reason) the reason books exist today. The Bible is the first book printed and has been the all time best seller ever since that first book was printed. The Bible is the only book that can claim to be the Book that has consistently changed the lives of more people (some way or another) than any other book in history. This Book is the most powerful book ever seen, but the Word of God contained within it is the source of that power not the Book itself.
Let us hear from the source of that Book about the book itself.
2Ti 3:16 -
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Note; that when this verse was written the Bible as we know it did not exist yet, so even the scripture that was not approved by the Cannon or the Protestant reformation is included in this verse. This means that scripture excluded by you and me today is still good for something under this verse. Even scripture which is outright rejected by righteous men of God is still good for reproof and for correction. This verse in no way tells us that “The entire Bible as we know it is the undisputable word of God” Even though I know personally that this (Book) Bible is undeniably the very source of Gods authority in my life. It is the phrase word of God applied to every word contained in this Bible which those of us who love the truth, object to as abuse of that phrase.
Think about this; if the Pharisees and the accusers’ of Christ say something because of what Jesus says then what these blasphemers have said is not the word of God just because it is recorded in the Holy bible, is it?
However if the Pharisees and accusers of Christ say something (even if it is recorded as scripture) because of what Jesus says, then truly this recorded in scripture response by them is in fact inspired by God, And it is good for reproof and correction.
Only some men are chosen to speak the Word of God as a prophet and Jesus Christ is the Lord of all those Prophets, so if they submit to every word Jesus has said to them as the highest authority available why then shouldn’t we when he comes to speak to us in the four Gospels?
If men have broken the Covenant God has made with man, then does God’s Son himself (Inheritor of all creation) have the right to make a New Covenant with all creation that all the earth from that moment on will be Judged by on Judgment Day?
It is the word of God as spoken by Jesus Christ (Gospel) that declares this New Covenant and without this New Covenant we have no chance at all because we (all living flesh) are already condemned under the First one.
Ro 1:16 -
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
This Phrase ‘Power of God’ does not apply to, Leviticus, Proverbs, Psalms, Genesis or the Koran, another testament of Jesus Christ Mormon bible or any other Scripture that is not the Gospel of Christ; it applies to the words of Christ in red, which Christ being God is also the most faithful word of God known to man.
Even the free gift of a puppy comes with responsibilities to that new life freely given.
Let no man deceive you about what Jesus teaches, because what Jesus teaches is our only hope freely given to us and this free gift comes with responsibilities, despite the works of the enemy in our churches this New Covenant is not a free ride on the finished works of Christ, unless you know that doing the word of God as spoken by Christ (our God the Son) is the finished works of Christ working in you until he returns to find us doing our duty to the final finished word of God in Christ as our New Covenant called the Gospel which is most definitely good news, because it means no more confusion about Gods will for mankind, from mankind. [Even confusion is finished in the finished works (Gospel) of Christ]
Joh 17:4 -
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
Joh 19:30 -
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Genesis 2:1-3
1 thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
“Once saved always saved” is a phrase that refers to a lie of a finished work of salvation in you. As if the Living God in you is limited to past tense rather than that which was, that which is, and that which is to come, Just like his Salvation is not limited to only one tense.
If salvation comes from Christ alone and Christ is that which was, which is, and that which is to come; then salvation is also coming from this past, present and future tense as well.
“Once saved always saved once” is a better used context for this phrase, unless that you believe that being in the right Spirit is a one time event which would never require me to hear or believe and Obey God the Son Jesus Christ ever again because my salvation is already secure because of him and cannot ever be revoked God forbid!
Salvation is a process that is never finished unless it has been revoked already.
Re 3:5 -
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Do not let the sly deceptive work of the enemy and his doctrine deceive you when men in him say that “all our names, every one who is born is written in the book of life until God blots our names out of it” This doctrine would make Christ our Lord a Liar when he says -
John 3:10-20
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of
That false Doctrine of everyone’s name being written in the book of life until blotted out by God would have you believe that what Christ is saying above is a lie and that the world is not condemned already until those in the world are condemned when their names are blotted out of the Book of life.
In others words more simply put that Christ has lied to us through his faithful witnesses about the world being condemned until belief in the Son of God, and that the world is not condemned until their names have been blotted out of the book of Life.
In the beginning of Salvation comes Justification (this is what is confused with the phrase ‘once saved always saved’) then in the present tense comes sanctification (cleansing) then in the future tense comes Glorification (true salvation and ultimate redemption) not the kind that produces the fruit of the Spirit without which a soul will be cast into the lake of fire, but the Kind of Glorification (Mind and body of Christ) that will be allowed to enter into Heaven.
