Today's "Marriage' Scripture by Jason Hunt" *January 15, 2010* (Jan 15, 2010)
Prayer Request:
1 Timothy 1:5
The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.
I often wonder how we can just simply ignore God at times and return to the sin that we know we should have no part of?
How does a pastor choose to have an affair? Why does that seemingly strong brother continue to get high? Why does another brother continue to gamble and another continue to get drunk while all along having the knowledge that it is wrong?
Different type's of wood give off different scents and burn different colors when thrown into a fire. The same stands true for what we in-jest. Be it through our eye's, ears, or nose; there will be a reaction. If we fill our temples with things that are pure we will develop a pure heart. If we fill ourselves with things that are clean we will have a clear conscience. Purity and distance from sin develops the genuine faith we need to always choose Jesus over the temptations of this world.
Father in Heaven, we adore You. God, so many times we have prayed and sang that...yet have turned our backs on You. Forgive us dear Lord for our selfishness. Cleanse our hearts and renew them with purity that we will come to You with genuine faith.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
