Today's Scripture *January 9, 2010*
Luke 6: 13-16
At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles. Here are their names:
Simon (whom he named Peter), Andrew (Peter’s brother), James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (who was called the zealot), Judas (son of James), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).
Jesus selected "ordinary" men with a mixture of backgrounds and personalities to be His disciples.
Today, God calls "ordinary" people together to build His church, teach the salvation message, and serve others out of love.
Alone we may feel unqualified to serve Christ effectively, but together we make up a group strong enough to serve God in any way! Ask for patience to accept the diversity of people in your church, and build on the variety of strengths represented in your group.
And remember, God doesn't call the qualified, He qualify's the called!
Trust Him to equip you as He did His disciples here on earth.
We thank You Lord for calling each of us into Your Kingdom.
May we trust in You and look to You for answers, strength, and patience.
Help us to do the job You have given to each of us.
May we represent You in the way that we live, love, walk, talk, and desire.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Be blessed in Him!
In His Service,
April
