Today's Scripture *November 27, 2009*
Romans 7:15
I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate.
This is more than the cry of one desperate man; it describes the experience of all Christians struggling against sin or trying to please God by keeping rules and laws without the Spirit's help. We must never underestimate the power of sin and attempt to fight it in our own strength. Satan is a crafty tempter, and we have an amazing ability to make excuses. Instead of trying to overcome sin with our own human willpower, we must take hold of God's provision for victory over sin; the Holy Spirit, who lives within each believer and gives us power. And when we fall, He lovely reaches out to help us up.
Father God, we praise You this day.
We thank You for Your Holy Spirit which leads us, guides us and comforts us.
Thank You for forgiveness of sin, Sweet Jesus! May we live our lives daily committed to You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
God bless!
Have a terrific weekend!
