Today's Scripture *November 19, 2009*
1 Corinthians 7:28
But if you do get married, it is not a sin. And if a young woman gets married, it is not a sin. However, those who get married at this time will have troubles, and I am trying to spare you those problems.
Many people naively think that marriage will solve all their problems.
Here are some problems marriage alone won't solve: (1) loneliness, (2) sexual temptation, (3) one's deepest emotional needs, (4) life's difficulties.
Marriage alone does not hold two people together but commitment does--commitment to Christ and to each other despite conflicts, and problems. As wonderful as it is, marriage does not automatically solve every problem. In marriage, your home should be Christ centered and Kingdom focused. In our marriage, Jesus comes first. And by allowing Christ first place in our marriage--He has shown up and provided us with an amazing union! Whether married or single, we must be content with our situations and focus on Christ, not on loved ones, to help address our problems or difficulties. Set your sights on Jesus Christ, first and foremost! And He will provide!
God, we praise You for relationships!
We thank You for the union of marriage!
May You be the central focus of each marriage, dear Lord.
Help the men to rise up early and spend their mornings in Your Word and in communion with You.
Help us wives to cover our husbands and children in daily prayer and thanksgiving.
May our homes, whether married or single, be sanctuaries for meeting with You.
Be the Center, Sweet Jesus. Help us to allow You to be our All in All. In Your Precious and Holy Name, Amen..
God bless your home!
