Today's Scripture *November 6, 2009*
1 Peter 2:12
Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.
Peter's advice sounds like Jesus' in Matthew 5:16 : In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Gracious, godly, and winsome behavior on the part of Christians could show the world how different we really are in the Lord and might even win some of the unsaved critics to the Lord. Don't write off people because they misunderstand Christianity; instead, show them Christ by your life! The day may come when those who criticize you will praise God with you!
Father, You are our Savior! Our Conqueror and our Redeemer!
Thank You for each life that You have created with Your hands.
Help us to show the world, by our actions and our words, that we are Your people.
Your chosen ones, Your children. May our Behaviour be honorable and above reproach.
Guide us each day, Heavenly Father. And even in our tough times and times of doubt and stress, may we in those times still profess our commitment to You by the way be behave and what we show others by our actions. We cannot just be Christians in the good times..and we need Your Holy Spirit to guide us always, in all things, day by day. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Have a blessed weekend!
