Today's Scripture *September 28, 2009*
Job 1:5
When these celebrations ended—sometimes after several days—Job would purify his children. He would get up early in the morning and offer a burnt offering for each of them. For Job said to himself, “Perhaps my children have sinned and have cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.
Job showed deep concern for the spiritual welfare of his children. Fearful that they might have sinned unknowingly, he offered sacrifices for them. Parents today can show the same concern by praying for their children. This means "sacrificing" some time each day to ask God to forgive them, to help them grow, to protect them, to give us guidance in raising and disciplining them, and to help them please Him. Are you spending time thanking God for your children? We can bless our children by our faithful and earnest prayers.
God, we praise You and give You thanks for our children!
Bless each and every one of them, we pray, O God!
Help us to guide, and direct our children to love, follow, and know Your ways.
Give us discernment when dealing with our children. Give us ears to hear and hearts to understand.
May the next generation be a generation on fire for You! In Your Name, Amen..
Bless you!
April
