Today's Scripture *September 8, 2009*
1 Peter 3:7
In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.
If a man is not considerate, loving, and respectable of his wife, his prayers will not be heard, because a living relationship with God depends on right relationships with others. Jesus said that if you have a problem with a fellow believer, you must make it right with that person before coming to worship (Matthew 5: 23-24 “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.). This principle carries over into family relationships. If men use their positions to mistreat their wives, their prayers will be hindered.
Father God, be with us in our day to day relationships.
May we honor, love, respect, and show consideration to all those around us.
Guide our husbands to be the spiritual heads of our homes. And lead the wives to respect and honor their husbands.
May Your ideal in our marriages be alive and well. In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Be blessed!
