Today's "Marriage" Scripture *May 2, 2009* by Jason Hunt
2 Corinthians 5:21
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
I recently struggled with a big decision. It really tested my faith. I had to believe God for something very big. Huge; in my eyes. I struggled because I believed the enemies lies that I wasn't good enough to deserve what I needed. That my sins were too great for God to see me. Discouragement and disbelief were taking hold
I was praying while driving to work one morning and Jesus slapped the scales off my eyes and asked me, "Was my sacrifice not good enough for you"? A flood of Scripture came to mind as a gift from the Almighty.
Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? ; Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? ; Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart." ; Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I began repenting right away, what gave me the right to deny Jesus' gift for me that I once celebrated to receive. I was ashamed that I was telling God that He wasn't bigger than my sins and He doesn't love me enough.
Don't you dare believe the lies of the enemy that your marriage is beyond repair. That there is no hope. God gave Jesus authority over all things. That includes you, your spouse and your marriage. Nothing is too hard for God, especially our hearts. Jesus paid the price that we can believe in the impossible.
Almighty Father, Creator of all things; You are the Author and Finisher of our faith. I ask today Lord that You would inspire hope for the hopeless, healing for the wounded, restoration for the broken, rest for the weary and the courage for all to invite You to be the center of their marriages. Because NOTHING is too difficult for You!!! In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
