Today's Scripture *April 8, 2009*
Habakkuk 2:4
“Look at the proud!
They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked.
But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
The wicked Babylonians trusted in themselves and would fall; but the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
This verse inspired countless Christians. Paul quotes it in Romans 1:17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” And Galatians 3:11 So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
The writer of Hebrews quotes it in Hebrews 10:38 And my righteous ones will live by faith. But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.” , just before the famous chapters on faith.
It is helpful to all Christians who must live through difficult times without seeing signs of hope. Christians must trust that God is directing all things according to His purposes.
Thank You God for Your precious Living Word to us!
Help us to love a righteous life full of faithfulness to You, O God!
We love You! And we trust that You will guide our steps.
In Jesus' Name, Amen..
Bless you!
April
