Today's Scripture *January 23, 2009*
1 Samuel 10:22
So they asked the Lord, “Where is he?”
And the Lord replied, “He is hiding among the baggage.”
When the Israelites assembled to choose a king, Saul already knew he was the one (1Samuel 10:1Then Samuel took a flask of olive oil and poured it over Saul’s head. He kissed Saul and said, “I am doing this because the Lord has appointed you to be the ruler over Israel, his special possession.)
Instead of coming forward, however, he hid among the baggage.
Often we hide from important responsibilities because we are afraid of failure, afraid of what others will think, or perhaps unsure of how to proceed.
Prepare now to step up to your future responsibilities. Count on God's provision rather than your feelings of adequacy.
Thank You Lord for choosing us as Your servants.
May we serve You each day with a new fire and fervor.
We want to be used by You to further Your Kingdom.
May we not shy away from our responsibilities, but rather, trust in You and lean on Your support and strength.
In the Matchless Name of Jesus, Amen..
Have a blessed weekend!
Your friend,
April
