THE MASTER AT THE MASTERS

“In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.” 2 Corinthians 13:1

I love to see the Lord bless us with little surprises that bring both gladness and joy.  What a wonderful realization that we are truly His delight and joy.  It is wonderful to be able to praise Him for His kindness and goodness.

I have a good friend that invited me to come to the Masters Golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia this year as his guest.  It was not a hard decision for me to agree to come and spend time with this friend and his lovely wife and enjoy spending Saturday at the golf course along with 50,000 other spectators.

The same day that I agreed  to come I had another call from the pastor at Greenwood United Methodist church in Augusta asking me to come and preach in his church if I was ever out his way.  I had met a couple that attend this church at a conference where I had spoken and they told their pastor about me.  Glory!

So, I enjoyed the Masters on Saturday and then shared the Master on Sunday.  I enjoyed both days.  If you live around Augusta let me encourage you to visit Greenwood church some Sunday.  It is located on Tobacco road and the church phone # is 706-798-2200.  They have asked me to come back in late summer for a week end conference and to bring Ruby with me.  Pastor Ron Fearnyhough and his fellowship will bless you.

I asked the congregation this question.  Are you a human doer or a human being?  In Genesis 2:7 we find where God formed man from the dust of the earth and when He breathed into him he became a human being.  I had a precious man of God tell me early on in my walk with the Lord that the Lord wanted me to learn how to be still and just be.  Being raised by work oriented parents and living in a work oriented world makes it very difficult to learn how to rest in Him.  I am still working at this.

Scripture tells us that we are to strive to enter into His rest.  That really doesn’t make good sense.  Work to rest!

“There remaineth  therefore a rest  for the children of God.  He that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.  Let us strive, (labor, endeavor) therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”  Hebrews 4:9-11

Only by His multiplied grace and mercy can we ever enter into this marvelous place of rest that God has for each of us.  Lord, we are crying out to you today to help us enter into your rest.  Thanks for your love and patience as you work with us to help us stop working on our own.

Ami Ortiz continues to improve.  He has a long recovery road ahead of him and your love and prayers are a vital part of the recovery process.  If you will click the following you can hear his father share a little bit.  http://blip.tv/file/815590

We continue to receive testimonies of God’s faithfulness to touch the work of our hands in the 100% olive oil soap that we make.  Thanks for remembering to order our products. www.jacobsspring.com/product.html
