Ashley's Today's Scripture *September 28, 2008*

Galatians 5:17
The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions

Last week was the last of our series " The names of Jesus " This week I have chosen to do one of my favorite Scriptures.
Galatians 5: 17 really spoke to my heart about sin. Any time that you want to do something you are tempted with or you want to do something that you know is wrong and you do it, you are letting your flesh have control. Your heart doesn't want to sin, God didn't create your heart with the desire to sin. The only thing that Satan could get a hold on was your flesh and so your flesh will desire to sin. How do you over come that ? Well you let the Holy Spirit within you take control. Let God do His work and ask for His power, His strength, and His desires to be yours.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for this day and I thank You that You are in control of our hearts.
I pray that will we only listen to You so we can overcome temptation.
In Jesus' Name We pray,
Amen
